Anthony J. Porquez
As founder and head craft cocktail specialist of Liquid Culture, Anthony Porquez began his bartending career while earning his advertising degree at Boston University. Despite his later years working in the Los Angeles corporate advertising and sales world, his passion for bartending and spirits continued to be a constant.
Almost 20 years later, spanning from Boston, Los Angeles, Australia, Manila and locally in Athens & Atlanta, Porquez has provided professional service and training to establishments of all kinds here at home and abroad.
Formerly the senior bartender for the two-time James Beard Award nominated cocktail bar, Holeman and Finch Public House in Atlanta, Porquez contributed greatly to the success of H&F’s highly respected cocktail program. In addition to his leadership behind the bar, Porquez also held the roles of Communications Coordinator, where he initiated communication projects for the Resurgens Hospitality Group's several properties. Having a deep passion for the craft and its history, Porquez was also a curriculum developer & instructor for Holeman & Finch’s Academy of Bartending. It is Porquez’s intention to elevate the craft cocktail experience in Atlanta through entertainment, education and impeccable service.
As a leader in the local bar community, Porquez has judged & emceed multiple cocktail competitions. He holds the prestigious titles of Former Atlanta Chapter Vice President of the United States Bartenders Guild, Former Atlanta Chapter President of the United States Bartenders Guild, elected Advisor to the current Atlanta USBG executive board as well as Producer & Radio Show host of Bar Talk Radio – the first and only USBG Podcast in the nation. In his 2017 term as USBG President, Porquez produced and coordinated 30 different education focused events ranging from Atlanta beverage culture & trends to spirits & bar technique training and bartender career development & conduct.
As a bartender, a few of Porquez's accomplishments include a profile feature in Athens Food & Wine Magazine, #3 out of ‘The 11 Best Cocktails in Atlanta.’ by Eater Atlanta, a finalist in Espolon Tequila’s 2015 Cocktail Fights Bartending Competition, a mixology consultant for Eagle Rock Distributors and a featured bartender for Bacardi’s Street Party Portfolio Event at Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans. Currently, Porquez is brand advocate for Brovo Spirits and Padre Azul Tequila.
Casey Teague revered as Atlanta’s top Whiskey expert and owner of Liquid Culture, a spirits focused consulting, marketing, education, and events company. He consults on Whiskey programs for restaurants and does marketing for local spirits brands American Spirit Whiskey, Independent Distilling Richland Rum, and Still Pond (229) Spirits.
Teague began his career working in Atlanta’s top restaurants. He found his passion for Whiskey when he opened Atlanta’s first Whiskey bar Mac McGee. Where he hosted tastings, educational seminars, coauthored The Book of Whiskey and curated collection of over 500 bottles of old and rare Whiskeys from around the world. With his expertise, he was recruited for a position that was crafted specifically for him in the Resurgens Hospitality Group and consulted as their Whiskey Specialist. Teague implemented programs such as the H&F Whiskey Society, table side Whiskey Cart service, Whiskey Concierge, reviewed Whisk(e)ys for the HFWS weekly newsletter and used his knowledge to create distinct craft cocktails.
His knowledge of spirits continues to expand as he has learned the art of fermentation and distillation. Teague consults product development and has become an aficionado of blending spirits. He has help create new and innovative spirits for the brands he works with from Rum Agricole to Biershcnaps. With his restaurant and cocktail background, he has consulted on set up and design of tasting rooms, along with cocktail menus. He uses all his experience to build and achieve brand penetration into the Atlanta market.
